Mander Duffill has become actively involved with St Nicholas School during the year, initially arranging a Community Day where members of the firm volunteered to help paint various outside areas to create a brighter and more stimulating playground for the children.
The special school in Chippenham caters for pupils aged 4 to 19 years with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. The school sought support for their own defibrillator after previously only having access to one at a nearby senior school. When Mander Duffill became aware of this, they kindly offered, via the firm’s Charity and Community Fund, to purchase a defibrillator. Julian Duffill, Managing Partner of Mander Duffill, commented “We are delighted to be involved with St Nicholas School, being such an important part of our community. Whilst we hope there will never be a need to use the defibrillator, it will be reassuring to all that there is now one on the school’s site.”
Head teacher, Ros Way, said “St Nicholas School is very grateful to Mander Duffill for their support in providing a defibrillator to the school. Not only is this a valuable and potentially lifesaving resource for the school but the defibrillator will also be available to the many community users of our hydro therapy pool.”
On 3 September, in time for the new school term, members of the Mander Duffill team visited the school to deliver the equipment.
